This past Wednesday was the second in a row that brought tornado warnings. I get home fairly early now and just wanted to straighten up some things and relax. The flower beds are looking better and I wanted to go out back and tag more plants that needed dug up and pitched.

Almost an hour later the sky started looking like this. No biggie, but I could feel my adrenaline start kicking up a notch. I came inside to grab a smoke and turn the news on. They had their radar showing a thin line of storms they say were carrying a punch. Ooooo, so now the storm freak inside me was peeking. I run out back camera in hand, out to the front, and then out back.

It lasted only 20 minutes or so, and tornados actually touched down approx. 12 miles to the north of me. Watching the news the next morning caused me to feel bad. Here I was outside taking pictures and people were being effected by the storm in a bad way.
I guess I like a perfect storm the best. The kind you can see, but people are getting hurt by them. Just like snow, I love the snow, but I'd like to see it stay off the streets, sidewalks, and driveways. I like Summers heat for the gardens and flowers, but hate what the humidity does to my hair. So there you have it. I guess I just expect too much. I have more pics, but the rain on my lense made them too hard to see.

great pics! I feel that way to alot. Good storm but gosh its hurting someone. Life the beautful flowers just cant take the heat yadda yadda yadda! LOL
I have too many trees here to get good storm pics. All you can see in mine are dark trees. LOL!
We have one huge oak tree that has a branck the size of a small tree growing right out over our bedroom. The branch is getting more and more bottom heavy and I'm worried it will eventually come thru our roof in a good wind storm.
The problem is the tree is growing up from the side of a 70 foot drop off in the ravine. Impossible to get to. We will have to hire some one with some major equipment to trim the blasted thing and that is gonna be some major bucks.
gab-I love the chase, but not the damage a storm can do.
crab-I'm ashamed to admit I want to have all three of my trees cut down.
jq-Thanks. The majority of my pict are of storm clouds. Maybe I should try being more creative.
Great photos, Manny. You live a beautiful place.
Have a great Sunday.
Your pics are great...I know what you mean about storms..there is just something that draws me, the scarier the storm, the bigger the draw...to be out in the fierce elements...snapping pics as fast as my camera will.
Living on the prairie we do get hit with some doozies (sp?) and it is hard to learn of someone close by suffering from storm damages.
What great pictures Manny!
I think I would be really scared if I ever would see a Tournado.
Not to much storm going on over here :)
nice pics
long time no read. how are you? Glad that you made it through the storm.
winters-thank you. I am loving your story.
Sunny-I love the chase, but hate the harm they do.
Mone-I proably should have stayed inside that night, but I just couldn't. I just had to be right there. I have issues.
Prash-Thank you sweetie. Loved your confessions.
Tigre-I went away for a while. I'm back, just not every day.
Don't cut down your trees! Where will the birds nest?
And when are you gonna put up a new post?
Ok. I'm tired now. I have to repaint all the woodwork I painted over the weekend cause....IT'S FIGGIN YELLOW! I chose cream. It dried, yellow. UGH!
You are linked in my blog
Crab-The trees are as good as history. The ice storm a couple years back ruined the one, you just can't see the damage from a distance.
I can't think of anything to post.
Prash-I'm honored babe. I will have to talk to crab about getting you linked on mine. Thanks.
