GRATEFUL

I am following signgurls lead with this one. There are so many things I am grateful for and I figure this would be a perfect 100th. post.

1-My family. It wasn't easy being raised by a single mother. There wasn't alot of money and out of all the aunts and uncles, we were the only ones being raised by 'MOM' only. I grew up feeling like the 'others' were looking down on us. I remember getting what I refered to as a sterio for Christmas one year. My cousins came over later that night and one of them said..."That is not a sterio. It's a record player" WTF? Maybe it was just a record player, but I payed it 24/7 and I loved it. While mom made many mistakes and had a temper like you would not believe, the day she passed away, I was able to tell her that God had given me the perfect mother and I meant it when I said it. She raised her girls to be self sufficient, which is something none of my cousins are now.

I love that Squirrel and I hang out every weekend and I don't have to spend my Saturdays alone. I love that Crab, Squirrel and I don't let a holiday go by without celebrating together and we also make it a point to have our "Sisters Day Out".

2-My job. I love my job and for no more education then I have, I make good money. God has given me a brain which allows me to perform at a higher level...At least at work. I dunno what happens to my brain once I pull out of the parking lot at work. LOL

3-My bed. Especially in the Winter when I know there are people sleeping outside. I actually thank God for my pillows, I have 4 of them, my bed and my comforter.

4-My love for the simple things in life. While I like going out and having fun, I can be just as happy watching the grass grow, the rain, the smell of Spring coming in. I'm happy I don't always have to be out spending money.

5-That I am happy eating cereal for dinner.

6-For having learned things the hard way. This has given me experience and has helped to build my character.

7-As much as I hate being stuck in traffic, I almost always turn it into; Thank you I have gas in my car, air in my tires, AC/heat, a sterio...and damn it! It is a sterio!

8-A few good friends. A precious few friends.

9-Grace. She is such a loving cat and always seems to know when I am down. When I had my toothache, she came right up and put her face right next to my mouth, then she meowed softly. I cried.

10-Memories. While not all of them are good ones, I seem to be able to forget the bad or at least shove them way in the back. The other day I was out back at my flower bed. I turned back toward the house and could see Ladd. I stood there remembering how he would walk the perimeter of my yard and then lay under the pine tree while I was sitting at the flower bed working. When I came back inside, I remembered the puddles I use to step in. When he got old and sick he would just go anywhere.

There is so much more I am grateful for. I'll save them for another day.

Happy Sunday!

I think that between Me, Jenn, Bryan, and Jillie. We comment and trash your blog way more than our own.Of course you have lots more readers, but you can always count on one of us to try and roust you from whatever exile island you are on.

And why is this?

1. Your a very smart girl

2. You love your friends

3. You take no shit

4. You always let each of us know how much you love us..

5. You put up with my crap every day...I know it took a while for you to come around. Because I can be very weird and persistant, but once you saw the G-Man light, I come here...Holler Manny!
Take my shoes off, grab a drink, pet Grace, banter with all of our good friends, wait till you get sleepy, Tuck you in, and quietly leave..

What a great list Manny. I know what you mean by being raised by a single mom, while my dad was so sick, he had to live with his mom. I loved the simple things and happy I wasn't spoiled on materialistic stuff. At the time I didn't understand it and thought my mom was being mean. I feel bad about the way I use to talk to her then but we got through it and that's why she is so precious to me.

BEAUTIFUL MANNY...Just like YOU!

g and web people everywhere-I went out to eat with Squirrel, Applebees for unlimited soup and salad. Then we rented movies, I chose Happy Feet and Stranger then Fiction. After that, we hit the grocery store. I bought a molten lava cake mix (Cuz Crab made me hungry for it) and ice cream with 2 different kinds of toppings.

On my way home, I had to run the gaunlet and some stupid lady was honking and yelling at me, I pulled over to let her pass (actually I wanted to kick her butt) and when she flew by me, Mr. cop came out of his hiding spot and got her ass. I just tooted my horn as I passed by them both. Mr. cop waved at me cuz we've seen each other aroung alot.

I came home and put my things away. Then I had to make potty. I laid down on my bed and took a short nap with the breeze blowing over me.

I woke up and logged onto my puter cuz I knew my g-man would be waiting patiently for me to show up. LOL

And now I'm thinking about going out front and cutting some flowers to bring inside.

Stay tuned for details of my exciting Sunday night festivities.

Manny, that was a wonderful play by play of a very exciting afternoon of fun!!
I especially enjoyed the Potty part..xoxoxox

And wait, I also liked the ticket part. That is my goal in life to see that happen to rude drivers. Because I am a very courteous driver!!

All I can say is, she must not be from around here. The people driving slow on the other side of the street should have been a clue for her, but it wasn't. The best thing is, I know he didn't let her off with a warning. They never just warn anyone. It's a very small city or township. Actually I don't know what it is. They call it Brice.

G- You are one of the coolest bloggers I know. I hope you like the pics. I don't ever let anyone take pictures of me and if they manage to sneak one in, I most definitely never show anyone. Consider yourself privledged my most loyal g-man.

Manny said...

Ummm....Did my pictures scare you? I'll understand if they did. LOL

K, I'm sitting here talking to myself so I'll have lots of comments like g and tc.

No, I'm not saying they are sitting on their blogs talking to themselves. They just get's lots of comments and yet they both still take the time to visit me.

good morning manny, hope you slept well and awoke to a beautiful sunrise.
Sorry I was offline yesterday but I would've loved to come out and play with ya'll.
How many times I wish a rude driver would get caught by the cops and now you've made me very happy relating this story.
