You all know that my good handsome Ladd died last Septemeber 16th. I had been toying with the idea of getting another puppy. After much thought, I decided maybe right now wasn't a good time for that because I was never home and wouldn't have time to train a new pup.
Working long hours, I thought Grace was feeling lonely, so I decided to get a kitten. My heart was with Grace when I made this decision. Well, I ended up with the last 2 kittens in the litter. A black one I named Stormy and a white one I named Mally. Guess what? Grace doesn't seem to like them. She hisses and bites them all the time. She'll play with them sometimes, but not often. What have I done? I got them for her so she wouldn't feel all lonely during the day.
I tried to explain to her last night that Love lived at our house and she had to be nice. She wasn't even trying to hear any of that crap. As a matter of fact. As soon as I said it, she jumped off the couch and went on the attack. Jeez! Can I ever win?
I have pictures. Lot's of pictures, but I can't seem to focus right. Stormy is so small (the runt) and you can't see her good and Mally seems to fade into the background.

Grace will not hurt those Kitties...each day brings them closer together...
Besides, they will grow faster than you think, and then they can take care of themselves...

Hey I have no answers so I did what I always do, I consulted the great guru ... the Internet. It seems like a few people mentioned a product called Feliway. Just give them time and maybe when you're home...she acts differently to when you're not. It was the same way when we brought the 3rd dog into our little pack of hounds. It took close to 6 months before they all got along. Now they are inseparable.
Bummer about the long hours....good to see you're still around!

Animals have to establish their pecking order. Grace is just keeping the kittens in their righfull spot at the back of the pack. They'll get along fine if you give them time.
Or, she'll kill them and you'll get a dog. LOL!
